Surviver with other legal matters, i.e. immigration, are supported in finding assistance.<\/li><li><b>Immigration Consultant:<\/b> works closely with the Legal Support Workers and provides survivors with consultation and education on immigration matters, including the review of applications and related forms, and supporting documents in the immigration process.<\/li><li><b>Transitional and Housing Support:<\/b> provides short-term assistance for survivors who are in the process of leaving an abusive situation by providing community referrals, as needed, and help with finding affordable housing.<\/li><li><b>Let&#8217;s Talk Child Witness Program:<\/b>\u00a0Supportive group sessions in our 8-week program for mothers with children\u00a0ages 5-12.\u00a0It is an early intervention program that is offered concurrently to children and their mothers. We need to identify it, prevent it and understand the options available to help those who are hurting.<\/p><p>Women who endure abuse do so in silence, and often, in isolation. We are their voice.<\/p><p>Through our work in public education, we facilitate discussions in schools and elsewhere in the community about the harmful effects of domestic violence. We conduct abuse prevention workshops for students from Grade 6-12 through our Schools for Change program, speak with college and university students about intimate partner abuse, and provide our unique perspectives to professional associations and groups who may come in to contact with abused women.
