A beautiful poem written by a Yellow Brick House client in honor of her mother, Oksana:

A Mother’s Love -

As sweet as dew after a morning rain

She seeps out all of your strongest pain

Takes care and loves all those around

She’ll pick you up when you fell down

Her voice as soft and sweet as a feather

She’ll be your best and brightest treasure

The star that shines brightest at night

She’ll be your beacon of light

The following stories have been shared by The Royal LePage Shelter Foundation .

The Royal Lepage Shelter Foundation is Canada’s largest public foundation dedicated exclusively to funding women’s shelters and violence prevention programs.

We salute the courage of the 30,000 women and children who stay in the shelters we support each year.  Their resilience inspires us to raise more funds and awareness to help end family violence.  Together, we can put abuse out of commission.

It’s the stories of survivorship from those who have lived with abuse that remind us how critical it is that we all work hard to make a difference.  Through their stories of hope we want families to know they are not alone in their journey.
