There are other ways to donate monatary gifts to Yellow Brick House:
Gifts in Lieu:
In the past, donors have made financial donations in lieu of gifts to friends, family or their child’s teacher. Instead of asking for birthday, graduation, bar/bat mitzvah gifts, etc., you can ask family and friends to make a donation to Yellow Brick House. Yellow Brick House provides cards and letters stating that a donation has been received and from whom.
Gifts of Stock:
To help fund meaningful and effective development programs at Yellow Brick House, please consider donating your publicly traded stocks and mutual funds.
When you donate and transfer your shares directly to Yellow Brick House, you will receive a charitable receipt for the value of your shares without being taxed for the capital gains. You’ll also be in a position to significantly help Yellow Brick House efforts.
Gifts of Cash through a Will:
The most common type of planned gift is a bequest made in a will.
Gifts of Other Assets:
These include real estate, jewelry and other valuables that can be donated either through your will or while you are alive.
Gifts of Life Insurance:
Donations can be Made by taking out a new life insurance policy with Yellow Brick House as the beneficiary, or by changing the beneficiary on an existing policy, should you no longer need it to insure your family’s security. This type of gift makes it possible for anyone to make a sizable gift with only a small annual or monthly payment.
Donating Used Clothing /Linens
While we are very excited and happy to accept all donations of NEW clothing/bedding/linens/pillows/towels etc please be aware that due to new policy changes, Yellow Brick House is no longer able to accept any used articles as listed above.
However, please consider donating your used items to the Centre for Abuse Awareness at any of their drop-off locations as follows:

In addition to the above location, they also have various bin locations across York Region where used clothing could be dropped-off. They are as follows:
- Family Bowling Centre in Aurora (located off of the industrial parkway)
- Metro Plaza in Stouffville (5612 Main Street)
- XTR Gas Station @ 61 Main Street in Mt. Albert
- Country Mart just north of Holland Landing at 1 River Street, at Queensville Side Road
- Vince’s Supermarket in Sharon (19101 Leslie Street, at Farr Road).
