Taste of Aurora

The Aurora Food Pantry is hosting Taste of Aurora from April 19-20 at the Aurora Community Center. This event will feature demonstrations in health and wellness, food specialties, learning pavilions, live entertainment, wine and alcohol pairings, as well as children’s entertainment and programming. Proceeds will go to support Yellow Brick House and other local charities.

One Billion Rising

One Billion Rising is a global movement to demand an end to violence against women.

On February 14, 2013 Yellow Brick House staff, together with one billion women around the world and the men who love them, raised our voices and danced together in solidarity with those who have survived violence. We pledged to do as much as we can to help put an end to violence against women and help empower those that are fleeing violence now.
Yellow Brick House also participated in events being held at Seneca College in celebration of One Billion Rising. Many students, staff and faculty came out to dance and support the cause.

All donations will go directly to Yellow Brick House to support women and children who are fleeing violent situations. On February 14, 2013, together with one billion women around the world and the men who love them, Torontonians will raise their voices and dance together in solidarity with those who have survived violence. We will send out a call to bring an end to this epidemic of violence everywhere. We will be joyful, expressive, loud, spontaneous, fun, inclusive, accessible and community-driven.
