York Region Violence Against Women Coordinating Committee – www.yrvawcc.ca
This standing committee of the York Region Violence Against Women Coordinating Committee is responsible for educating the public on the issue of Woman Abuse in all its forms and thereby, assisting in the task of prevention and reduction of Woman Abuse, in accordance with the York Region Violence Against Women Coordinating Committee’s (YRVAWCC) Terms of References.
Victim Services of York Region:
Works in partnership with York Regional Police and the O.P.P. to provide 24-hour emotional support and practical assistance to persons victimized by crime or circumstances.
Provides a holistic approach to supporting persons with substance abuse problems. Programs include assessment/referral, family support and individual/group counseling. Programs are culturally sensitive.
